Euphemism roles as a disguise tool in political texts: A case study of Tempo online political articles

The mass media tends to use euphemisms in political news narratives. euphemistic was chosen by the editor avoid controversy due broadcast of a material. This research aims discuss types narrative on Tempo articles (December 2022-January 2023). Political euphemism is seen through van Dijk's paradigm which focuses local semantics and lexicon, especially how leaders tend this style language as linguistic tactic. data form texts were then tested again with Allan Burridge's concept who thought that an ideal social communication order achieve maximum effect sensitive topics. results study conclude there tendency word phrase classes politicians. Their corpus consists mostly metaphors, synecdoche, borrowing, hyperbole, abbreviations, acronyms.
